When is your favorite time to turkey hunt...fall or spring? Would you rather call them in the spring, or use a dog in the fall?

Spring. Nothing like coming daylight in the woods, and listening to them come to the call.

Spring is the thing..... Not much else going on. Weathers usually good. They are more vocal. I love it.

Both.
I like spring because there's little that compares to bit old tom gobbling.
I like fall cause you can't beat the scenery and the chance to scout for deer season as well.

to get one with a bow id say you have to be quiet and alert. that leaves sam out on both counts. ;D

When bowhunting in the fall it is very important to be still, and move slowly. Because the turkeys are usually flocked up and you have many sets of keen eyes looking around.

Most people use english setters, labs will work too. The dogs must flush the birds, scattering them every direction. then u go to the spot where the birds flushed from and camoflauge yourself and your dog and wait for the birds to return. Being flock animals they will return to where they were all split up. Light calling is sometimes used to make them a little less scared.

All of my chances in the fall have come while waiting on a deer to pass. I shot under one this past year and spooked another while moving my bow in the tree stand. Good luck killing one in the fall! Spring is my fav. time but it seems like I get more shots in the fall.

the use of ground blinds has helped the bowhunter to up his percentages drastically.
