my grandma alwasy did a quarter cup of vinegar with a half cup of sugar. she didnt use bacon drippins but would sometimes use drippins off cured ham like youd use in red eye gravy.
that would season a big bowl of fresh lettuce for supper.

That sounds good, I'll have to try it. Healthier then my concoction. Ive made 3 batch's in the last two days, love the stuff! 4 tbls bacon drippings, 6 tbls sugar, 3 tbls vinegar 4 big handfuls of shredded leaf lettuce, 1 c.Italian dressing and 3 small cucumbers sliced is the last one we settled on as the best of the trials, lol. Thanks for the reply. Ran outta onions, ugh, didnt know if green onions would change the taste/texture?

use the white part of the green onions sliced up in it and eat the tops outright.

Love green onions on bologna with a slice of bread, one of my all time favorite sandwichs!
