Harvesting Ant Grubs
This tip was given to me by a friend from Germany. 1 Tarp 4’x6’ is plenty big 1 #2 shovel or anything you can dig and scoop with 4 pieces of wood about 4” in diameter Lay the tarp next to the ant hill; wrap the wood up a couple of times with the 4 edges of the tarp. Shovel into the ant hill and place in the middle of the tarp, the amount you dig depends on you. Stand back and watch as the ants do their job and move the grubs to the shade caused by the wood warped in the tarp (5-10 minutes). Then you can simply scoop up the grubs the ants have moved to the shade and then proceed to cooking.
Cooking: 1 frying pan (I use cast iron) Cooking oil (I use garlic infused grape seed oil) the amount depends on the size of the pan for me 2 table spoons. Heat the oil till hot the drop in the ant grubs and cook till a light golden brown. I like to add a little salt and pepper right away when the grubs are taken out of the pan. Grab a handful and enjoy, taste a bit like shrimp! Enjoy and give it a try!

Larry any kind of any, but for myself I look for the lagre ant, 3/8" or larger. They all taste about the same. But larger the better it takes less for a meal.
