I ate more asparagus tonight at supper then I have my entire life. Several kids in the family that have never ate it ate this recipe. Supposed to be grilled but it poured all evening so we couldnt grill. I boiled the asparagus for about 5 minutes along with some brussel sprouts. I drained and let the asparagus cool and rolled several pieces up with 3 slices of Budding ham along with half a slice of Schwanns sliced american cheese inside. Just a glaze of bacon grease to keep it from sticking in the frying pan and I lightly browned it and removed them as soon as the cheese showed signs of melting. It was awesome, Ive had asparagus in casseroles etc and never liked it. My wifes niece has never tasted asparagus or many green veggies as shes a city kid living on chicken nuggets from the golden arch's. She wasnt going to try it and I finaly talked her into it and she ate a dinner plate full herself.
