I got a big chunk of land to trap with out having to drive a long way to get there. I joined a hunting club behind my house that is over 6,000 acres. Every where I have been has been loaded with tracks and scat. Lots of creek bottoms if I want to trap coon but I am looking forward to the land trapping.
As long as my schedule stays the same I will give them heck come Feb!

how much are the dues you pay for being a member of the hunt club?

Yeah I am a member. The dues are $750 a year and I think it's gonna be well worth it.
I wanted something close so the kids can go in the evening after school or if I don't want to drive a hour down to my dads on the week ends. I have found a lot of places to hunt already, building a new stand right now.

I know I don't know much about hunt clubs and such but I thought any stands put up would have to be OKed by the higher arcy of the club. And You've got to get some pretty decent furs from there to cover the expense of belonging although you do get to hunt it as well.

The only rules on stand placement is 300yds in wooded areas and 500yds in open areas from another stand. You can only have three stands too. If I find a spot that is good with no stand and it meets these requirements I can put a stand there. I have found more spots than I can hunt.

We trap all of our deer lease's and the fur helps offset the due's and on some lease's it pays for itself and the hunting and fishing are 'free".

The more I scout this place out the more I find. This land is full of predators! This could be the best place I have ever trapped as far a numbers go.
