there is one important factor when trapping for otter to remember. when setting the trap at the cubbie or large pocket sets or dirt holes remember this the trap placement is critical the otter has a long neck and uses it to go in and still your bait and you will never know how he did it. The otter has 8 inches from the tip of his nose to the front shoulders. And larger otter a greater distance. So the key is to off set the trap left or right your choice. And about 8 inches fron the hole entrance. If setting the trap to close they will go over the trap with that long neck and clean you out. So remember to take into account the otters body when setting traps.
