Not yet, but I think I'm getting close. As windy as it has been here since June, I'm thinking of requesting a name change for the place I live to...KansaTucky!

Yep....went out there and did a bunch of snaring of yotes. Unbelievable in the area I was how flat it was, no trees for miles, a few ditches and yotes everywhere. I can't recall how many we caught, but it was a bunch. That is when i really decided how stupid they are.

I tried to trap in Ks once but I wasnt very good at it. Jerry must have been at the other side of the state from me- here the coons are tiny (must have hatched from eggs I think) and the coyotes have been clean.
You should have come with him! Dont know if we'd have got much trappin done but it would have been fun.

the original plan was for me to go too but my mom has been having some health issues lately so i didnt want to burden her with the kids so i stayed home.
our coon here are small compared to the ones in Kansas.
jerry weighed a medium sized one there he said and it weighed 24 lbs.
here they average 12 or so.

That would be comparable to our MN coon, an average one would be about 24 pounds or so. Biggest I recall ever catching weighed 38 pounds.

7 does the coon in your area have straight hair or that kinky lookin hair? Ours right here close have pretty straight hair, go south 75-100 miles and it gets kinky. The few times I went way north I caught really big coon, but they had that kinky stuff.

wyoming coon are wooly haired.
i was surprised when i was out there cauase i thought theyd have silky long hair like the yotes but they didnt.
fur wise our coon here have nicer fur than those in wyoming but not near as heavy. the wyomning coon have a much better color than our coon here.
huck..jerry said the coon he caught in kansas werent kiny or wooly but nice straight and flowing hair with the best color hed seen bout anywhere.

I'm not sure what you mean by kinky hair, but to me kinky hair is like my American Water Spaniel's hair, tight curls.
Our coon has pretty much straight hair. Occasionally you might find one with a slight curl, but mostly straight hair.
