I have been using snares so much, I was afraid that I might have forgotten how to catch a coyote in a trap. I had pulled all of my canine line on this farm about 2 weeks ago. Got a little snow and it told me that my trap locations had been 'dead on'. Just wasn't getting any interest. Since I saw the fresh sign, I waited for the snow to melt before putting this trap back in. Saw where it had just a little action the day before yesterday. Since I had a wet mink in the back of the truck, I shook it out over the set. This is what was waiting for me yesterday. I didn't see those cheek ruffs until I looked at these 2 pix. And I guess even a blind dog finds a bone, once in a while.
