Cathryn once asked about bible prophecy regarding end times.
I have an excerpt from Hal Lindsey's website with regards to America and end times. I do see much of what the bible says will happen in the last days as coming to fruition. But, I won't get into that now. Here's what Lindsey and some other bible scholars believe:
"You've heard me often say that I don't see a role for the US in end times prophecy. I believe that means that the US will either not exist or will be so hamstrung, crippled, or weakened that it is of no consequence during that time.
On the surface, that seems to be a ludicrous assumption. Today, the US is the world's only superpower. No one can challenge our military or economic might. We are a nation the likes of which has never been seen before in history. Who or what could cripple us?
Our greed.
And our lack of self-control. Experts say if you took all the money in the world and lumped it together, you'd come up with about $58 trillion. America's national debt is presently more than $14 trillion. In other words, we've borrowed (and owe) over a quarter of all the money in the world. And we have no prayer of paying it it back.
Unfortunately, there's no end in sight since the politicians seem not to have the guts to put a stop to it. And why should they? Apparently the majority of Americans don't want the gravy train to stop either. Why else would we keep returning to office the very people who have mucked thing up so horribly."

Is it greed or LAZINESS? ?? I tend to lean toward LAZY myself. I ahve been trying to hire some help for weeks. I have finally found a young guy that has all the basics to do what I need him to do. And he will work. I am very relieved because I telll you true, finding anyone that will work and has any amount of sense is hard to find. I know this field is not taught at school, few have ever done what I do, but my goodness, it aint rocket science. Anyone that wants to work can learn it soon enough.

Greed, Lazy, might as well add Apathy. I noticed a Lot of that with my HS graduating class. Yet the class behind mine has a disproportionate number of millionaires...comparatively speaking.

I used to work as a contractor in a state prison. I heard it many times that they would have to interview 100 people to get 10 people that could pass a background and drug test. It was not minimum wage and was a career not a burger flipper job.

I applied for a job earlier this spring that had 3 requirements, #1 was a high school diploma or G.E.D., #2 was minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing enviroment, and #3 was to pass 6 workkeys test BEFORE applying for the position. Pretty plain and simple requirements I thought, but when I went to the 1st round of interviews they told us that out of 450-500 applications only 30 of us met the requirements to even make it to those interviews! Mostly people were missing the passing test scores, but they said alot of people hadn't even taken the test yet. So I think we can add stupidity to the mix also, people cant even follow simple and easy directions anymore.
BTW I did make it through the first round of interviews and my file has been forwarded to the eligible for hire pool, just waiting for the call to go to the last interview!

I find it interesting that none of these comments dispute Lindsey's opinion that America isn't a player in the last days. Instead, everyone has their own idea on what will get us there.
Regardless of the right answer, we are spiraling out of control whether you blame Obama, Bush, Clinton, democrats or republicans. Something needs to be done and in a hurry or America will become a thing of the past.
