The Washington Post strongly condemned Obama's decision to reject the pipeline saying it is hard to accept.
As the Post explained, "Even without the pipeline, Canada will still export its oil across the sea to China. Meanwhile, the US will continue importing crude oil from the middle east." In other words, the environmental lobby might have stopped the flow of oil from Canada, but it's being diverted onto the seas and fossil fuel consumption will continue as always.
The environmental left's victory is another loss for the American people, especially the 13.1 million unemployed workers.
Gas prices are at a record high in January and are 28.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago and expected to go higher. Analysts predict that the national average for a gallon of regular could hit 4.25 by spring.
Under Obama, oil and natural gas producton on federal lands is down by more than 40 percent. 2010 had the lowest number of leases issued for oil and gas prduction on federal lands since 1984.
North Dakota already has returned to pre-recession employment along with energy-rich Alaska. Soon expected to be followed by Texas, Nebraska, and South Dakota sometime this year.
Sadly, President Obama has put the interests of the American people behind his own political interests. He could have green lighted the Keystone Pipeline and created real jobs, increased the supply of affordable, reliable energy, WITHOUT SPENDING a single public dollar, or advocating tax hikes.

Not so fast, someone own's a railroad who Obama likes or rather gets his strings pulled by. That oil will probably be loaded up on tankers and hauled in by rail, sure it will burn alot more fossil fuel to get it here vs a pipe line, but when has adding more expense and burning more money as well as releasing more green house gas's ever got in the way of the greenie's? lol.
I'll give you one guess as to who owns that railroad! He pays less tax than his 250 grand a year secretary does!
EPA is quietly working away right now to slow or shut down all that productivity out west as well! Need to get all that drilling stopped like they did in the Gulf.
And today Obama said 'who knew? we are the saudi arabia of natural gas'! Too bad he won't let us extract it either!

All I can say is which ever person runs against Obama, if they don't exploit Obama's rejection of the pipeline, they really don't deserve to be president. Of course, just emphasizing his failed record, should be enough. But, there are those who haved turned a blind eye to what is happening in America these days. Just heard today that during Bush's administration 44% of Americans paid no income tax. That number has increased to 48% today. Who's not paying their fair share?

Sure are. Digging up as much dirt on each other as they can and not focusing on what they will do to fix the mess America's in. This stupid name calling gives Obama something to fight back with.

Entering into our fourth year of trillion dollar plus deficit's! And no one is talking about it. Worst year Bush had was 400 billion at the end of his second term!
Never had a president run the country as sorry as this in our history and STILL you have half the country thinking he's doing a wonderful job! Country may be gone too far this time to bring back!

I'm afraid you may be right about the country being out of touch with reality. In the past 100 years there has only been 3 times that a republican was able to unseat an incombent democrat president.
