Got a limit of sunnies (20) mostly on the kinda small side, Got a limit of crappies (10) small also and a nice 2 1/2 lb bass They are all in the fridge right now and will be supper tomorrow nite. mmmmmm. That bass sure was a surprise after dark and catching little crappies I set the hook and the rod bent right over I thought whoa wht is this. lots of fun.

slightly south of north pole ;D Actually I'm from Waterville about 50 miles south of Twin cities we had a lot of open water still up until about 2 and a half weeks ago now there is only six inches of ice on the lake where I do most of my fishng. This is one of those years where you need to know the lake and know what you are doing so many people just have no ability to read the ice and then they get in trouble. Where are you from becky?

the trick to heating a fish house is to use a stove or a propane heater. The permanent style fish house has a wooden floor which is insulated keeps the cold down on the lake and the warm in the house they are very comfy but can be a pain to move on and off the lake. The portables like what I have are a canvas tent which flips up off of a large heavy plastic sled mine is large enuff for three people to fish in if your sholder to shoulder. I use either a sunflower heater on a propane tank or a coleman pro cat heater and also a lantern for lit after dark. The ice will get a little slick if you get the house too warm but all you have too do is turn down the heat or open the door and it will freeze up again. Its really no problem and its so nice to be out of the wind and in a 40 degree or warmer house versus out in the cold. I have a vexilar fish finder that lets me see things as small as my jig so its really nice for knowing where the fish are. We used to have a 8 x 12 permanent house it was real nice two long benches easy chair in the corner lofted bunk in the back sometimes we even fished out of it ;D played a lot of cards and dreank alot of pops ;)in there too. Sold it tho someone else wanted it worse then we did.

Its a fish house an Ice house is what they stored the ice in in the old days. And in a permanent house they get so nice and warm that you can just be in a tee shirt don't need your coat it'll be nice and warm can even wear tennis shoes. The house we had was a sleeper and we would sleep over night with just a regular sleeping bag. Even had to crack a window because the heater would keep it too warm and you also want some ventilation.

My family had a cabin on Tetonka for 35 years. Sold it in 1998. I go back often to check out the area. Sure has changed alot. I am from Iowa but only a 4 hour drive.
