Out to dinner, a man and his wife are dining at a table in a plush restaurant... ..., and the husband keeps staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sits alone at a nearby table.
The wife asks, "Do you know her?"
"Yes," sighs the husband, "She's my ex-girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up seven years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since."
"My God!" says the wife, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?"
LMFAO.....she got him..LOL ;D

LOL EARL
Hey, did you really try that ?

if earl says he did, he did. jerrys brother peed on a glove and stuck it in a dirt hole made for fox one time to prove that human scent aint the big factor in catching canines everyone thinks. he caught 3 at that set in a row starting the same night he peed on the glove and stuffed it in the hole. i love hearing their old trapping stories. Especially Jerryswhen he trapped with Charlie Dobbins, they had some very interesting times. LOL

Although I'm new at this, I'm convinced that human smell ain't that important - at least where I'm at. I am in the most highly populated part of the state of PA - there are a lot of fox here and they roam around all the area - into peoples yards, around barns, into office parks, whatever. They are always around human smell.
Maybe in more remote parts of PA or other really remote areas, where they don't smell human all the time, it might make a difference, but I dont' have experience with that yet.
Not that I would go around peeing on all of my sets or anything, and I set with gloves on.

Pee is one thing. Human sent is another.
I would pee in a dirt hole. But I will aways ware gloves when setting traps. I am sure you can catch a LOT of fox with no gloves. But there will always be a few that spook.

Do you kneel down when making a set? You probably leave some scent. I take some precautions - for example I don't pump gas wearing the same boots I'm gonna stand next to my set with. I use a separage pair of gloves to handle lures/baits. I'm just not convinced "extreme" precautions are needed. Of course, this is my rookie year....... maybe I just don't know how dumb I'm being.

Here in PA Scansy. You dont have to go to EXTREAM precautions. But you need to prevent it as much as possible. I noticed sometimes the fox will run around your sets, until it cools of in a few days. Whats that tell you ? Yes they probably will all commit sooner or later, but I want to catch them on teh first night, not thee days later.
