25 KARMA TO THE PERSON THAT POSTS THE BEST LURE RECIPE!
This has to be a homemade lure, not a bottle of this or that you buy at the store. This is lure, not bait.
It has to be something you have made and used.
Sunshine, Earl, and myself are the judges.
Contest ends Sunday night, SuperBowl Sunday. Winners will be announced no later than Monday evening.
15 karma to the winner, 10 karma to the two runnerups. And I'm going to give one karma to the first person to post a good recipe!

Here's one of mine that i use for coon.
This doesn't make much but you can adjust the amounts for your own use.
Juice from 3 cans of peaches Juice from 3 cans of raisins. You can also puree your own raisins and strain the juice. 2 Tablespoons of anise 1 Pint of Fish/Salmon oil
Mix together and store in the fridge. You'll need to shake it between uses because the raisin juices tends to fall.
Oh yeah...
Don't get any on ya. It doesn't come off.

My own personal favorite.
1/2 lb deer meat cut into 1 inch chunks. 3 oz of chicken fat. 3 oz of fish. 1 field mouse.
Put in clean jar in full sun to render down(don't let flies lay eggs in it).Strain and store in cool location.Caught a many red and gray with it and cat and coon.

Rain doesn't wash it away.
But it doesn't do very well in cold weather it seems.
I imagine adding a little skunk juice to it would make it call a little longer.
Maybe I'll try that next season.
Bchunter, Do you add anything to it to preserve it?

COON LURE
12 oz bottle of molasses 6-8 oz of fish oil 1 oz of beaver castor 5 drops of pure skunk 1 oz of pure anise 1 oz of pure vanilla
Bring ALL ingredients EXCEPT skunk to a boil.....Let boil for a few minutes then let cool....Add the 5 drops of pure skunk when mixture cools.....Pour mixture into a plastic bottle(or whatever) .Shake vigorously and pour into small glass lure bottles....Will thicken slightly upon cooling....You can put two other sweet ingred. in if you dont have anise and vanilla...(ex peppermint and cherry).....Finished product should be sweet and skunky with a hint of fish! The county road crew cut the fiber optic cable that serves the area I live in. I wasn't able to get online at all Monday, and keep getting disconnected now. Hopefully that is cleared up and Earl, Sunshine, and I can announce the winner tonight.
I apologize for the delay!
