First I want to apologize for this taking so long. A road crew accidently cut the fiber optic cable to my place and I lost my internet connection. Te Sunshine had trouble with her PMs and we didn't connect, so finally here is the winner.
We graded on several different criteria. One was how practical the recipe was. I downgraded a point on coon lure. Why waste time mixing a lure for coon when anything from chewing gum to toothpaste will catch ine? However Elkoholics lure doesn't wash away when it rains, which is a super big plus where I live, so I scored him a point for that.
Another one was how easy are the ingredients to find. Most of us never get around to sending for hard to find stuff until we are ordering other supplies. But if you can get it at the drug store or supermarket you are more apt to start lure making in the off season.
Simplicity was another thing I lookerd for. 2 or 3 easy ingredients make mixing a lure easier for us non-proffesional makers.
Anyway it came down to a tie for 1st and a tie for second. Little Bit pulled her recipes so I think there would be some controversy if we didn't assume she didn't drop out of the contest which is too bad, because she had some good recipes and I hope some of you wrote them down.
Anyway, that left 3 of you, and I just put your names in a hat. You all had some good stuff, and I want to personally thank each of you, and Elkoholic, I'm trying your coon lure next year, because rain is my biggest problem here.
First place: Turkey Killer
Second Place: Wheeler (going to try your mink lure, too)
Third Place: Elkoholic.
PM Sunshine and remind her to give you guys your karma. Congratulations!
