Caven's Gusto or Stef's XLDC for lure. They seem to like the strong stuff, so I've been told. We've seen one, and tracked another up here in Tyler Co. Maybe they're becoming more common around here. A friend of my son's has trapped and/or snared a couple over around Phillipi. I sure would like to catch one-I think they're a real pretty creature.

they released em in Tucker county originally from what i understand theyve just spread out from there, but supposedly thats really the only area in the state that theyre fund..they look mean to me but it be worth getting the permission just to try and trap one..if i do get one im gonna get it mounted

We saw one on a big rock this past winter. Must have jumped up on top of the rock while it was hunting. Looked to be at least 3-3 1/2 ft. long, tail and all. Jet black and shiny. Took off like a scalded monkey when it saw us. Sure was a pretty sight, against the white snow. You never have a camera ready when you need it!! Oh, well.... Next fall/winter, there will be some steel in the ground for that one, if he's still around.
