I like trout or salmon, but you can use about anything you want. Just chunk them up small, and make sure flies can't get to them. Sit them in a glass jar on a roof, where the sun will get to it.

some of the best sweet smell fish oil i have ever made was from the thin fin shad.they are so oily that when you take a bucket full in about three to four hours setting in a bucket you can drain a qt of fish oil after that threw a way they rot super fast .here i put up medhaden oil...i have already put up 21 gals so far..but any fish even catfish will make fish oil

if you want a sweet smelling oil, get you a gallon of fish oil and then ad some procoon to it, it will be a sweet oil that the coons will like

Hard-Core Raccoon Lure would be comparable to the ProCoon as a fish oil additive for this application.
