I like to cut my skunk essence with a little yote gland lure and penut oil. Makes a great long distance call bait.

The very best bait I've used for K9s is beef liver. Tainted for 3 days in 90 degree or higher temps. Add a quarter ounce of Bufflo Creek Lures Tonquin oil per gallon. preserve with your favorite preservative. usually use borax .

Just made a new batch of yote bait. Ground up 2 pounds of beaver with a quarter t spoon skunk essence and quarter spoon of yote gland then mixed all those ingredients together and thinned with 1 ounce of peanut oil. then added four beaver castors ground fine. Mixed all of that then added sodium benzoait about quarter cup dry. mix well and let sit till season.

take several beaver tails and cut up in chunks and place in gallon jug .let stand over the summer...there will be a blackish oil on the top skim the oil off and put in a lure bottle (this is the lure) don't add any thing to it period...note after you skim the oil off reclose jug because it will form several layers of oil over time.........

take four dz raw eggs and break them in a bowl and mix them real good ..then put them in a gallon jug and seal the top real good so flys want harm it..( save the egg shells for your sets for eye appeal ) let it set for two months...this can also be used as a lure for coyote and fox or mix in a lure formula....tip ...works real good for those who can't use bait stations just dump a pint in a general locations..

for an early season bait, try using BJ catfish bait. I take the jar, and make small balls with the material that are about the size of a large gum ball, then put them in a ziplock or back in the original jar. Then all you have to do is spear one of them with a small stick and stuff it in your hole.
this stuff works great for prebaiting as well. However as the temp starts to cool down, It doesn't seem to have as much calling power, but early fall, yotes and foxes will dig it up.
Make sure its BJ catfish bait. I have tried some other kinds and they havn't worked as good as BJ. It has a strong cheese type smell
