Does anybody cut the tails off of their beaver and let the oil out of the tail drain out into a bucket??? Heard about this from an old trapper at the MTA last weekend....

if you look under the coyote lure formula ( i beleave)....take the tails and cut up in small chunks and let rot during the summer and skim off the black oil....don't throw away because it will make several layers of oil over time ...don't add any thing to it...its a government lure for coyote and fox....i was taught this 20 years a go...its hard to beat

Bill is right on with this. The beaver tails have good amount in them. And any dog loves them for chew toys. Thats why when making fox and yote sets a beaver tail is a great lure. Or bait if cut up and set in hole.

Dern and I have been letting them drip all summer. Fur shed in that corner does smell good though...

Yea Earl I received a 16oz peanut butter jar with what I thought was sac oil. Now I'm not so sure. Maybe it is. It is seperated with an amber colored clear on the top and black on the bottom. The black stuff is real thick.
