Coon are interested in the smell of canid gland lure, also. I've caught coon at predator sets lured with strong coyote gland lure. Guess it's a curiosity thing with them.

Spike your fish oil or salmon oil with some honkin' strong shellfish oil, too. Helps it carry further in the cold.

A super "All Call' works well to draw them in for me, I still bait the pockets with jack mackeral.

I don't use salmon oil, I use regular fish oil with a louder smell, ( my daughter thinks I'm crazy, but I give my oil the sniff test before I buy it)then spike it up with Newt's shellfish oil. It's loud as all get out, mixed 1 oz. shellfish with 7 or so oz. regular fish oil. Shake before applying.

I put some fox gland lure above a few of my pocket sets, baited with mackeral...seemed to work great, of course i don't know if they would have caught without the gland lure or not. But i did catch quite a few(couple dozen) in dirthole sets for foxes this year.

Spike your fish oil with BEAVER CASTOR and you will catch every passing coon.

sounds like good advice, I know the coon really work the beaver dams and crossovers. They also love to inspect old beaver houses too.
