modifing 11 long spring traps are simple just check the jaws and file them if they seem sharp or add lanatated strips to jaws ..bubble jaw ends and add two swivels to the chain one in the center and one at the end..spot weld the cross frame if needed or used jb weld (not the best but will work in a pinch)

Ive modified some good one's with jb weld. You have to sand the are well before applying. Other wise bad results. Ruff them up with ruff sand paper not emery. And it should hold pretty good for smaller animals like coons and possum rats mink, otter i wouldnt trust its holding power them or on yotes. But like i said the smaller ones just fine.

I've gotten in some pretty heated discussions over JB Weld. I don't think the people that put it down have ever tried it. That stuff is a lot stronger than people think. One guy asked me what I do when I boil them. LOL, that was my clue he had never tried the stuff.
