As long as the thief isnt packing a pair of fence pliers or the like. They wont work that hard to pull them. I am a big man and i aint pulling one with out a shovel ever again. So i would say yes but if the trap thief is looking to take your trap he will.

I remember the first time I saw a Berkshire stake. I thought, shoot, that little piece of steel ain't gonna hold boo! I pulled on that thing till my guts were hanging out my azz, then went and got the shovel and dug it up. As long as the thief isn't carrying a pair of cutters, or a long tool with lots of leverage, he won't pull it by hand. Trouble is, when they can't pull em', they grab a rock or something and beat em' up. Had that happen a time or two. Don't know what passes through peoples minds these days, sometimes.

with cable stakes u won't have your average run-of-the-mill tree hugger pulling em up. We lost 2 this year for just that reason....had they been cable stakes they would have still been there! Because the people that took em weren't supposed to be there anyway!
