If you ever had #3 vic square jaws with the wide spring pin,you know that the new music wire springs out there wont work on them because the spring arm that hooks up under the frame is too short,heres a fix for anyone sitting with weak springed #3square jaws and don't know what to do with them because there too weak to use. I cut a 1"x1/8" piece of flat stock 2.5" long.Then press it in a little press or vice,using two pieces of flat stock under neath and one on top of the 2.5" pieceto make a depression so that it fits to the trap frame.The jig looks something like this _--_.Heres a pic so that you get the idea.I call them butterflies. Hope someone can use the idea.
