how did ya'lls deer season go?
mine was pretty crappy. i shot a pretty good one and never found it. after that it kind of took the wind out of my sails because i hadn,t lost a deer in years and it was my fault for be over confident and pressuring the deer. so i didn't kill nothing although i did let several small bucks walk.
oh well atleast i will be home next year for the better part of the season since i missed the whole first month of season this year.

Didn't hunt much. First day of rifle, got two before 7:00, went out Thanksgiving afternoon and set on the stand for about 35 minutes and got 2 more. Been trapping ever since. Don't even take my rifle now.

Thats a great buck.
My season wasn't the best either. Deer numbers are way down, I saw the same 6 does and fawns everyday and alllday. I did let 4 small bucks walk.

SUCKED and will continue to suck for years to come. My farm is 8 miles into the Chronic Wasting Zone established by our DNR (Damm Near Russia). They want the herd reduced to near nothing in a mere hope they can prevent any further spread of this desease. Well, the population is at our below there target. But beacuse they estimate the herd size by kill rate compared to previous year, they have about wiped them out by us. I passed 2 first year bucks, which were both shot after they passed a fence and onto the neighbors land, and 7 does on opening weekend of our gun hunt. Never saw another deer alive in the two weeks I hunted. My Dad hunted from Nov 21st through Dec 10th, never saw a deer. My oldest daughter starts deer hunting this fall of 07 - poor kid may never get to experience the great deer hunting I had while growing up. She sat out with me for a few days this year. She got bored and lost that will toi sit for hours. Though, we did manage to shoot two nice coyotes crossing our land - not all was lost

That is a nice deer, well I didn't get the chance to go out this season myself, but the men in my house my husband and two sons went out from the first day to the last and I know I lost count of how many they brought in but I just kept on doing the butching and packaging it up and putting it in the freezer around here deer meat don't go to waste for we love it more then anything, this year was a pretty good one I say myself my husband Bill had a good time always out with the boys Mike age 17 and our youngest Brandon age 15 this year was our youngest really first year out and it was well worth it for he took a nice buck on the first day of shotgun Indiana Buck Being his 1st gonna get it mounted for him to remember. Nov.06 Hope everyone else had a good season and just think next years is to come.
