Anybody like to hunt them little buggers? I love it, what a blast we have, literally. Never hunted behind a dog before, but it sounds like fun.

I can't imagine hunting without a dog. What great fun hearing a dog hot on a rabbit. Plus, the dog has such a wonderful time working the brush, that I can't even get into, it's so thick. I had a beagle 20 years ago that had white sides. He'd get in the briar patches to get the rabbits out. The end of his tail would get rubbed raw and bloddy. He would wag his tail so hard, when he was hunting, the white sides of his body would get red from the blood.

Im with some of the other guys who like to hunt with Dogs only way to go . But we normaly limit out each day or close to it and have plenty of rabbit to make sausage for the next time we go North . I use a 12Ga NO# 6 shot and it is a Pump . this was our last hunt for the season.

Hey Mag,
Whre ya at in the pic? just nice to ahve a face with a name..
I have had beagles off and on all my life. Raised what we called "bench leg" beagles with a state trooper for a few years. Best rabbit dogs I ever hunted behind. Had a solid red beagle last, she was stolen along with my coon hound while I was away. If I ever find out by who.......they won't be stealing anything else I assure ya.

Great pictures Magnumman! Thats quite a pile of snowshoes! Are they as good eating as cottontails? We do have a few Jacks around here I don't shoot very many but these went to a taxidermist We can't use dogs out here because of all the holes.........and even a worse problem is too many rabbits. These are some of the rabbits I've killed this year

When I was a kid, we always had beagles. Used to hunt all day on Saturdays during the season here in PA. Man, that was fun. My dad and I got away from it now though.

Our rabbit population has been down for a while, at least it seems that way when u go hunting. But the funny thing is that you will see plenty at night. I guess they are adapting because of the abundance of raptors that we have now.

I did bushhog some strips through a 8 acre piece of grown up stuff where it looks to be excellent rabbit habitat. Have taken 14 foxes off the property and 1 cat, should help the population. Hopefully, my son and I will be able to hunt it later on in the year.

Sunshine The whitetail jackrabbits do turn white in the winter time, just like the snowshoe. The taxidermist what them when they turn white to make "Jackalopes"
