Take a large sweet vidalia onion and slice into thin slices. Sautee in butter until it's tender. Add thin-sliced kielbasa and stir fry until it's tenderized. Slice up 2-3 FIRM apples and add to skillet, along with 1 cup of pure apple juice. Cover and simmer/stir over low heat until apples are tender. Season to taste. Serve with boil in bag rice, if you like. Quick, easy, and only one skillet to clean up afterwards. A camping favorite of mine.

Ain't no hard/fast rule on this one. I like to use a firm fleshed apple and just simmer 'till they're just tender.(not mushy). But, the longer you simmer them, the more they cook up and take on the taste of the kielbasa and onions. A softer fleshed apple, like a granny smith, cooks up much faster. Throw a little minced garlic, or bullnose pepper in there for a change of pace, and season to taste. It's quick, versatile, and minimum clean-up(all one skillet). That's why I like it for a camp meal. ;D
