If caught in a situation with out a knife you can take a piece of flint and take another piece and bust shards from them. This is the sharpest cuting edge found in nature. It will cut anything you need cut. Just another how to for making it work in the wild.

Flint is hard to find in this area. In the eastern part of the state obsidian is common, sharp as glass.
But unless you parachuted into an area there have been humans there before. a discarded beer bottle can make a cutting edge.

Ishi made tools out of beer bottles. Can lids work great. In Chesseland we have really course chert that doesn't lend itself to good tool making.
Better, carry a knife.
